The Association supports professionals who use integral approaches and methodologies in their practice to promote personal growth, organizational health, and social change, including but not limited to activists, business leaders, city planners, consultants, counselors, clergy, doctors, educators, managers, nurses, non-profit directors, politicians, scientists, social workers, spiritual directors, teachers, therapists, yoga instructors, and wellness coaches.

We define an integrative practitioner as anyone who uses integrative theory and methods in their work and seeks co-learning and collaboration across a variety of disciplines.  In short, those who seek to engage and support human flourishing through engaging the mind, body, soul, and spirit in self, nature, and culture. By definition, integrative practitioners delve deeply into their specific disciplines while seeking to include and be in conversation with as many different perspectives, schools of thought, disciplines of study, and modalities of practice as possible.

Here are a few examples of integrative practitioners...

  • Business executives who practice and integrate mindfulness in their organizational culture.
  • Educators who engage the multiple intelligences of their students.
  • Social workers who integrate the latest information on architecture and community building in advocating for their clients.
  • Yoga instructors who utilize art therapy modalities to more fully integrate insights.
  • Clergy who cross traditional religious boundaries to integrate diverse practices and insights into their communities.

The association supports practitioners by providing opportunities for integral practice, professional development, collective learning, collegial support, cross-sector networking, and collaborative research and advocacy.
